Mjach Internship: Fall 2009
I am a senior graphic design Major at Towson University, and will be graduating in a month. I have been very lucky to be given the opportunity to intern at Mjach Designs throughout my last semester as a student. My friend referred me to Mjach since he had completed an internship with them, as well. My first attempt at this opportunity with Mjach was in the summer of 2009, but the position was already full. I was very excited to hear about a second chance in the fall.
Although my weekly hours at Mjach were minimal, I feel as though I learned a great deal while being there. Right from the beginning, I was trusted to work on my very own projects. Most of them ended up being logo design projects, which I have come to love. I designed logos for the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at Towson University, Sharon’s Skin Studio, and Sharon’s Aromatherapy. It turned out that Sharon really liked my work and I went on to design a business card and note cards for her, as well.
I think one of the most important things I learned while at Mjach was how to prepare files for print and for the client. This is something I never experienced in my previous internship, or had been taught in school. It was great to go through the steps of the process so that I will know in the future.
My internship with Mjach Designs worked out wonderfully for my final semester at Towson University. Melissa and my co-workers were great people to work with and offered me some very great insight. Mjach was the perfect stepping stone to the future.
